Dear trail users, club and community members:
Arizona State Parks & Trails is now ready to launch the public survey for the 2020 Trails Plan! Please help us make sure all interested voices are heard.
Public participation by trail users in Arizona is vitally important. Arizona State Parks & Trails is
collecting feedback from trail advocates, user groups, the public, and land managers to develop trail priorities for the state.
Attached are some survey recruitment materials that you can use to urge members of your organization, the public, your communities and others who may have an opinion about trails and trail use to provide some feedback for this plan.
The survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and is available in English and Spanish. The survey links will be active until November 8, 2019, and can be reached at
AZStateParks.com/trail-survey.
Background:
Arizona State Parks and Trails is responsible for the completion of Arizona’s Motorized and Non-
motorized Trails Plan every five years. The Trails Plan is a compilation of information statewide on motorized and non-motorized trail use and trail issues in Arizona.
This plan:
1) identifies the most critical trail issues facing Arizona and offers strategic actions to resolve
those issues;
2) includes sections for use by all stakeholders on trail benefits, county, state, and national trends;
3) guides decision-making and resource allocation for motorized and non-motorized trails across
the state, and;
4) provides the evaluation criteria used to distribute the Federal Recreational Trails Program and
state-funded Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Fund grants.
